First-Annual Rougemont Ancestors Day
On behalf of the Ancestors Day Committee, I want to thank everyone who participated in today’s celebration of the inaugural Rougemont Ancestors Day. The event was a great success! We all know Rougemont is a special place, but I feel the level of participation today was a testament to just how deeply its citizens, and those of us who keep a piece of Rougemont in our hearts, care about their families and neighbours.
In the years ahead, I truly hope this event becomes an annual tradition. It’s a time for us to pause and celebrate the memories of all those who’ve gone before us. And an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate each other.
I wish to offer a special thank you to all those who donated their time or money to help make today possible and, in particular, to our father, John Standish, who had the vision for Ancestors Day.
This section of the website will be devoted to discussion and memories. Please use the comments function below to talk about today’s event and share your recollections of relatives and friends.
Rougemont has a rich history going back more than 200 years. It’s my hope that we all take part and record even just one part of our collective story. That way, our children and their children and their children’s children will always know where they came from.
